Week 11 was a crucial week in football, with the results of games allowing us to get a clearer playoff picture.
Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills put an end to the Kansas City Chiefs’ bid for a perfect season, beating them 30 - 21. Bills QB Josh Allen completed 27 out of 40 passes for 262 yards and 1 passing touchdown. The highlight of the game was Allen’s 26-yard rushing touchdown run at the end of the fourth quarter, with 2 minutes and 17 seconds left in the game, which sealed Buffalo’s victory.
Mahomes’s final drive attempt was ended by linebacker Terrel Bernard intercepting his pass. This game highlighted the Chief’s defense in all the wrong ways. The Bills knew that they had to capitalize off of the holes in Kansas’s defense, and they did just that.
Even with key contributors from the Bills missing such as tight end Dalton Kincaid and wide receiver Keon Coleman, the team was the first to beat the Chiefs this season. This week 11 game improved the Bills to 9 wins and 2 losses for the first time since 1992, with them winning their sixth consecutive game and being at the top of the AFC East. Week 12 is the Bills’s bye week, and they are currently the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoff standings.
New York Jets
The New York Jets had a disappointing week 11 game, losing 27-28 to the Indianapolis Colts. It took 28 minutes for the Jets to claim their initial first down with an awful start to the game.

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers finished 21 of 28, with 173 yards and 2 touchdowns during the game. The veteran quarterback did not surpass 20 passing yards until after the two-minute warning. Wide receiver Davante Adams had 6 receptions for 72 yards.
A lot of fans look at the missed opportunity for the Jets’ two-point conversion in the fourth quarter, which Rodgers pushed for, but interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich opted for the extra point. The Jets lost the game by one point, but the one point is very impactful, with their playoff chances getting slimmer by the minute.
In management news, on November 19, 2024, general manager Joe Douglas was fired after five seasons with the New York Jets. The Jets seem to be considering a reboot, with rumors surrounding Aaron Rodgers’s quarterback position for the Jets the next NFL season. Aaron Rodgers is not the team’s main problem, however, as management’s primary focus should be tightening up the positions surrounding him. The Jets have dropped down to a 3-win and 8-loss record with week 12 being a bye week.
New York Giants

Week 11 was a bye week for the New York Giants, but that does not make them exempt from team drama. At the start of Week 12, on November 22, 2024, it was announced that
Giants QB, Daniel Jones, was released from the team.
In a statement from the Giants president, it was said that Jones asked if he could be released. This comes after another losing season from the Giants, and after being benched earlier this week. Jones will receive $92M from his $160M contract.
