Soon-to-be POTUS Donald Trump is a P(f)OTUS: A Problem for the United States

Donald Trump. A controversial topic. Why do people support him? Why don’t they? Is he going to improve our economy?  The real question is: how did he become president again? We will discuss Trump's history and go through what he has done in this document and in the end maybe your opinion will probably change, or maybe it won’t, but that is okay!

Controversies 

Donald Trump has a habit of saying a plethora of random and unexplainable things. People have taken the words he’s said as a comedic joke; for example, during the debate with Kamala Harris, Donald Trump talked about illegal immigrants and he mentions Haitians in this quote specifically, — ”In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats.” This is a stereotype amongst the Haitian people, and to say this in a debate too would definitely destroy your reputation. Of course, one could argue that he wasn’t talking about Haitians. However, the context of this was towards immigrants which is still a stereotype on its own. 


Donald Trump has also had a strange history with women. To start this off, mentioning his daughter is the most important. When Ivanka was hosting the 1997 MISS TEEN USA Pageant, he turned to Ms Universe and told her, ”If Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her.” Huh? That's a pretty weird thing to say about your own daughter. The things he’s said about his eldest daughter is that she was,” voluptuous” and he's described her as a "piece of ass,” He has also talked about women in unfathomable ways in a leaked tape. As he talks about women and, “grabbing them by the pussy,” Obviously to point out,  this on its own is just wrong and disgusting to comment about women. He has bragged about his daughter, Ivanka saying how beautiful and how amazing she is; however, is this really normal to say about your daughter? In such a brazen, lustful tone?


January 6, 2021. This was a huge attack on the Capitol because Biden became the new president. Trump and Trump's supporters were fumed with anger. Then Trump gave a speech saying, "If you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore." This urged an attack on the capitol, where Trump supporters came attacking everything. In the end, it caused immense destruction. All of this was caused by one man, Trump himself.

Obviously, there is a plethora of phrases and comments Trump has said; this isn’t just it, sadly. This means that if you want this man to be our president, you’re going to have a hard time. To sum it up, this man has said inappropriate things about his daughter/women in general, hosted an attack on the capitol with the motive of resentment and jealousy — since He didn’t win the previous election, and also said very racist, controversial sayings. This is who you want as president? A bigoted man? From this vantage point, that’s pretty sorrowful.
